A good marriage or partnership is always about love, the love the couple shares for each other is the reason they are joining together and my role as a celebrant is to make sure everyone who witnesses their ceremony knows about that love.

•  Commitment Ceremony

A commitment ceremony is the perfect way to celebrate the love two people have for each other. I will help them declare to their friends and family (or privately if they so wish) the vows and promises they want to make.

 

• Renewal of Vows

Couples who have been married for some time, may wish to celebrate their lives together, their family and reaffirm their love and commitment to each other. This may happen on a significant anniversary or … just because!!

 

• Baby naming

The cherished arrival of a new bubby is such a blessing to a family. I will help couples & families introduce your little one to the world in a welcome celebration that is joyful, meaningful and heartfelt. It’s the perfect opportunity for the parents, the family (grandparents, siblings, aunties/uncles etc) and friends of the family to pledge their lifelong commitment to love, support, encourage and protect the child. Children of any age can be celebrated with a Naming Ceremony.

• Celebration of Life/Funeral Service

I would be honoured to gently guide you and your family when saying goodbye to your loved one. With a women’s understanding and sensitivity, I will conduct and lead a service that is a fitting tribute and celebration of their life, giving your family precious memories that they can treasure forever. I believe there’s no greater story to tell than the life story of a loved one. Funerals are a way to celebrate life and they help family and friends remember the truly wonderful and unique life led by their loved one.

I believe that a good funeral is a meaningful one. A life is commemorated, friends express their condolences, and a grieving family is comforted. The ceremony can take many forms, there is no right or wrong way to do it. There could be music and prayers, tears and laughter. At its conclusion, there is a general feeling that it was a fitting send off.

After gathering the thoughts of the family, my role is to offer you support and to help the family reflect upon the life of their loved one in a unique service with the utmost warmth, sympathy and professionalism. Whether the ceremony is in a chapel, at a graveside, at a scattering of ashes or a memorial service, I will take great care to handle the occasion with sensitivity and compassion.

‘Mel,  Thank you for the wonderful job you did for us. You really captured what we had told you about our Mum and our beautiful memories of her. The service was lovely and has been commented on by many as so fitting for Mum and truly captured a little of what so many remembered about her. It is a sad time for us all but we have to be thankful for all the years we had her for and we know that she is at peace now. Thanks again for a lovely service. J.L, Glen Innes
